Thanks to everyone who came out for our sour tasting this past Thursday evening! We wanted to provide a wide variety of styles and levels of sourness. Westbrook’s Gose continued to make fans throughout the event with several people saying the build-up to it helped prepare them for the wild flavors.
There won’t be a tasting this upcoming week, but they will resume the following Thursday, May 29th. We’re always looking for your opinions on what you’d like to taste so send us suggestions for events through the summer. We didn’t plan to taste sours but ended up using them because of several requests for an introduction to the style.
This week brought us two exciting remixes from Westbrook and the gypsy brewery Stillwater. They took a recipe from each other and modified it in some way to make it even more unique. Big Tasty’s Back Door is a remix of Stillwater’s Cellar Door with “therapeutic herbs and spices” as well as brettanomyces bruxellensis. Gose Gone Wild takes Westbrook’s incredibly popular Gose and adds both Citra and Amarillo hops as well as brettanomyces. If you’re a fan of either of these breweries or beers, you’ll want to pick these up soon because quantities are limited.
We’re excited to be able to help fill your beer needs now and in the future. If you’ve got any beer suggestions or ideas, or any feedback, we would love to hear it! Keep an eye out for more emails in the future with updates about events, new beers, new kegs, and more! If you’d like daily updates and information about kegs as they’re tapped, make sure to like us on Facebook or follow us on Twitter.
Thanks again,
Carl & Vance
