Thanks to everyone who came out for our peach tasting this past week!  We tried to keep them all to different styles and away from the peach beers you typically find.  Westbrook’s Captain Skoon’s Wench was a definite stand out from the others thanks to a nice flavor balance.

Join us this upcoming Wednesday, July 31st, from 5-7 PM for a tasting featuring a selection of ciders from around the world.  We’re trying to make sure summer gets a nice send off, and these should help you finish those last few weeks refreshed and cool.  We’ll have some varied types of cider and a few that we think will really surprise you, especially if you don’t think of yourself as typically being a cider fan.

This week brought us a lot of new arrivals that we’ve only heard whispers of in the past.  When we had our tap takeover with Foothills, their Seeing Double IPA was incredibly popular and tapped out before the event was even over.  Seeing Double is now finally available in bottles, so now you can either enjoy it again or discover it for the first time if you missed it previously.  We also received a shipment of barrel aged People’s Porter that’s sure to be a hit.

Fall is starting early this year with the arrival of Octoberfest, Pumpkins, and other seasonals arriving now.  Things started rolling this week with Sierra Nevada’s Tumbler as well as rumors of others starting to show up in the next week or two.  If you’re a fan of fall brews, be on the lookout for some seasonal selections in the coming weeks.

We’re excited to be able to help fill your beer needs now and in the future.  If you’ve got any beer suggestions or ideas, or any feedback, we would love to hear it!  Keep an eye out for more emails in the future with updates about events, new beers, new kegs, and more!

Thanks again,

Carl & Vance

Thanks to everyone that came out for our Quest Brewing Co. tap takeover!  We had a blast getting to share Greenville’s newest brewery with everyone with the help of Andrew Watts, one of the owners.  Everything they’ve got brewing already is delicious, and they’re only going to continue to go up from here.  We can’t wait to see what’s coming next!

Join us next Wednesday, July 24th, from 5-7 PM for another free tasting!  This week we’ll be featuring a selection of different styles that all feature peaches.  We’ll have a Wild Ale, a Lambic, a Belgian Strong Ale, and a Wheat Ale.  We’re still in the middle of a warm summer and thought this would provide another good method of helping stay cool.

This week marked the arrival of a few interesting new brews, especially with the release of Rogue’s new Chocolate, Peanut Butter, and Banana Ale.  This is their second collaboration with Voodoo Doughnut in Oregon, this time based off of their “Memphis Mafia” doughnut.  If you’re a fan of trying something different and completely off-the-wall, this is one you’ll want to pick up.  This week also brought the release of Stone’s w00tstout, a new collaboration between Greg Koch, Wil Wheaton, and Drew Curtis.  W00tstout is a big 13% ABV Imperial Stout brewed with rye, wheat, and pecans, then partially aged in bourbon barrels.

We’re excited to be able to help fill your beer needs now and in the future.  If you’ve got any beer suggestions or ideas, or any feedback, we would love to hear it!  Keep an eye out for more emails in the future with updates about events, new beers, new kegs, and more!

Thanks to everyone who came out last weekend for our one year anniversary!  It was a big success, and we’re trying to get the final details worked out for presenting our check to the charity that won our charity raffle.  We hope everyone had a great time and enjoyed the special kegs we tapped up.  We’re going to try and make next time even bigger and better.  Here’s to the next year of serving Simpsonville!

Join us next Friday, July 19th, from 5-7 PM for our next tasting!  We’ve got to make sure we can get our hands on a few things before we let everyone know what we’ll be tasting, so be on the lookout for final details in store, and on both Twitter and Facebook.  We want to make sure availability won’t be an issue so we don’t end up having to change plans at the last second.

This weekend is the grand opening of Greenville’s newest brewery, Quest Brewing Company!  They’ve got an event today, Saturday, July 13th, from 4-10 PM so head over to the brewery to show them some love!  They’ll have food trucks, live music, and some great beer for you to finally get your hands on.  We’ll be tapping their kegs all weekend so you can come get a growler filled here if you can’t make it to the brewery.

Happy 15th birthday to Thomas Creek!  They’ve been supporting the Greenville area for quite a while and are having a birthday bash today from 1-6 PM.  Tickets are $15, and they’ll have some special stuff on tap for your enjoyment.  This is another great event to attend and show your support for the great scene here in Greenville!

We’re excited to be able to help fill your beer needs now and in the future.  If you’ve got any beer suggestions or ideas, or any feedback, we would love to hear it!  Keep an eye out for more emails in the future with updates about events, new beers, new kegs, and more!

Allagash TripelThis weekend is it – we’ve made it to our one year anniversary.  It has been quite the ride, and we’ve had an amazing time.  We couldn’t have made it without all of you, so we’d like to thank everyone for all of their support.  Join us tomorrow, Sunday July 7th, for both our charity raffle drawing and a special tasting (with a few treats from Firehouse Subs) we have planned.  There will be a couple rarities popping up on tap tomorrow, as well as some samples.

July 6th is the last day to buy an entry into our first anniversary charity raffle.  Entries are $5 a piece and enter you for a chance to win the long list of beers we’ve got posted at the register in store.  You’ll also get a vote on which local charity gets the final total because all proceeds will be going to the winner.

This week marked the arrival of another limited Coast brew with their ALTerior Motive.  This old top-fermented style originates in Germany that is extremely malty and finishes clean and crisp.  Coast has brewed their Altbier in the traditional “sticke” style, which originally came about because of mistakes during brewing.  Be sure to check this one out and let us know what you think.

We’re excited to be able to help fill your beer needs now and in the future.  If you’ve got any beer suggestions or ideas, or any feedback, we would love to hear it!  Keep an eye out for more emails in the future with updates about events, new beers, new kegs, and more!
