Thanks again to Stone and everyone who came out for their tasting.  We tried a selection of some of their “lesser known” brews, and found a few new favorites.  We’ll be having another tasting this upcoming Wednesday, January 30th, from 5-7 PM.  Be sure to come on out and try some free samples – it’s sure to be fun.

We’re currently installing a few new regulators in our cooler to help ensure continuing quality on our growlers, so bear with us for another day while we finish up, then we’ll be back to our normal set of taps.  We hope you’ll all be ready for the Super Bowl next weekend – we’ll be gearing up with plenty of fantastic choices to fill your growler with for the event.

If you haven’t heard of the New Albion yet, it’s one of the earliest craft beers from the US.  It was one of the few to start before it was popular.  This “rebrewing” is a homage from Sam Adams to New Albion to bring back a taste of early US craft history.  Consider giving this a shot if you’re interested in seeing how the craft scene got its start.  Here’s a link with some more information about it:  http://bites.today.com/_news/2013/01/24/16680118-a-taste-of-history-old-school-beer-new-albion-gets-a-new-life

We’re excited to be able to help fill your beer needs now and in the future.  If you’ve got any beer suggestions or ideas, or any feedback, we would love to hear it!  Keep an eye out for more emails in the future with updates about events, new beers, new kegs, and more!

Thanks again,

We want to start this newsletter off with a shout out to Thomas Creek, and everyone who came out to support the event.  We hope everyone had fun tasting the Dirty Monk, which hasn’t been brewed for the past several years.  The turnout absolutely blew us away, and we hope it sets the tone for future tastings with breweries.

This upcoming Tuesday, January 22nd, we’ll be having a tasting with Stone Brewing.  This time around, we won’t be tasting off of the taps.  However, to make up for that, we’ll be tasting Stone’s newest collaboration, The Perfect Crime – a black smoked saison.  Along with it, we’ll have their Sublimely Self-Righteous Ale, Smoked Porter, and Levitation Ale.  It’s a great line-up of some of their “lesser known” brews, and we’re hoping you might be able to find a new favorite you’ve ignored in the past.

This week didn’t feature many new arrivals, but we did bring in something a little different.  The Brooklyn Brine Hop-pickles are made with Dogfish Head 60 Minute IPA (which is currently unavailable here), caramelized onions, and Cascade hops.  They’ve got a bit of a bite to them, because they’ve also got a little bit of habanero.  Let us know what you think of them so we know if they’re something we should keep in stock!

We’re excited to be able to help fill your beer needs now and in the future.  If you’ve got any beer suggestions or ideas, or any feedback, we would love to hear it!  Keep an eye out for more emails in the future with updates about events, new beers, new kegs, and more!

Thanks again,

Carl & Vance

We appreciate everyone who came out this past week for our IPA tasting, especially Brewery 85 for their surprise appearance and generosity.  We had a selection of four drastically different IPAs to show that they’re all far more different than people like to give them credit for.  Some relatively unknown breweries and beers made a good showing, and hopefully gave some people a couple of new favorites to choose from.

This upcoming Friday, January 18th, Thomas Creek will be here for a tap takeover.  This will run during our typical 5-7PM tasting period.  We’ll taste a selection of their best brews with the help of one of their employees.  With his help, there could be some new favorites found, and maybe some background on their beer.  There’s an event set up on Facebook that will be updated as we get more information about the event.

Following Thomas Creek, we’ll have a similar event on Tuesday, January 22nd, with Stone Brewing.  This time, however, we’ll have a selection of some of their “lesser known” brews.  Most people know them for their Arrogant Bastard, and Ruination IPA, but we’ll be trying things like the Sublimely Self-Righteous Ale instead.

We hope everyone had a safe and happy New Year.  Now that all of the craziness is over, we’re jumping right back into tastings.  Our next tasting will be on January 9th from 5-7PM, and we’ll be featuring a selection of IPAs.  We hope everyone is ready to come on out as we get things rolling.  We’ve got some great tastings lined up this month with Thomas Creek and Stone Brewing.

Thomas Creek will be here for a tap takeover on January 18th, and we’re excited to have them.  It’ll run from 5-7PM, as per usual.  We’ll have someone from the brewery here to talk you through their selection for the evening.  The week after, on January 22nd, we’ll have a representative from Stone Brewing here for a similar event.  We can’t wait to have everyone here with them.

This week, we got a small shipment of Founders Bolt Cutter.  It’s their 15th anniversary barleywine clocking in at 15% ABV.  We’ve only got two left, so be quick if you’d like to get your hands on one.  They’re limited to one per customer so everyone has a chance.  We’ve also got the Sierra Nevada Estate, which is a limited release wet hop IPA.  Again, quantities are limited and we’ve had to temporarily limit them to two per customer.

We’re excited to be able to help fill your beer needs now and in the future.  If you’ve got any beer suggestions or ideas, or any feedback, we would love to hear it!  Keep an eye out for more emails in the future with updates about events, new beers, new kegs, and more!
