Thanks to everyone who joined us for our Belgian-style Tripel tasting this past Thursday!  Fan favorite Victory Golden Monkey had some stiff competition, especially by Thirsty Dog Cerberus.  All four selections showed just how different Tripels can be.

Join us this upcoming Thursday, July 31st, from 5-7 PM for a Pale Ale tasting!  Pale Ales are a classic style that can have a lot of variance in terms of hoppiness.  If you’re looking for something that can satisfy a newcomer and a hophead, Pale Ales are a great middle ground.  We’ll have both new and old school Pale Ales that feature different hop profiles and methods of hopping.

This week brought us some of the first bottles from River Rat Brewing in Columbia, SC!  This great new South Carolina brewery was founded last year and has been brewing delicious beer ever since.  We have two of their five year-round brews, Moncks Corner Abbey Ale and their Double IPA.  Be on the lookout for the rest of their great labels!

We’re excited to be able to help fill your beer needs now and in the future.  If you’ve got any beer suggestions or ideas, or any feedback, we would love to hear it!  Keep an eye out for more emails in the future with updates about events, new beers, new kegs, and more!  If you’d like daily updates and information about kegs as they’re tapped, make sure to like us on Facebook or follow us on Twitter.

Thanks again,

Thanks to everyone who came out for our Pilsner tasting this past Thursday!  We tasted two Czech style and two German style Pilsners for the end of the summer.  Mama’s Little Yella Pils by Oskar Blues was hands down the fan favorite.

Join us this upcoming Thursday, July 24th, from 5-7 PM for a tasting featuring Belgian style Tripels.  Tripels have been a very popular style since our opening and have some amazing flavors.  We thought now would be a great time to introduce more people to the style.  We’ll have a mixture of both new arrivals and fan favorites for everyone to try.

This week brought us the “full house” from Big Boss Brewing out of Raleigh, North Carolina!  Three of their labels are now available on our shelves and we don’t think you’ll be disappointed.  If you’re a hop head, be on the lookout for their High Roller IPA and Hell’s Belle Belgian Pale Ale.  We’re excited for the arrival of the rest of their labels and hope you’ll help us give them a warm welcome!

We hope everyone is ready to continue tasting this week!  Join us this upcoming Thursday, July 17th, from 5-7 PM for a Pilsner tasting.  We’re still in the middle of the summer and wanted to share some of our favorite refreshing Pilsners to help everyone beat the heat.  We’ve got some delicious classics as well as some new releases that really shine this time of year.

If you’re looking for plans for next weekend, our good friends out at Quest Brewing are having their 1st anniversary bash from 1-9 PM on Saturday, July 19th.  They’re releasing a new brew every hour along with a few other special treats.  We can’t wait to see what the future holds for them!

If you’re a saison fan, we brought in Dogfish Head‘s Saison du BUFF this week and it’s one you don’t want to miss.  Saison du BUFF was originally brewed as a collaboration between DogfishStone, and Victory where all 3 of them brewed the same saison using the same recipe and ingredients.  Parsley, sage, rosemary, and thyme are the main spices present in the beer and they create a unique flavor.

Thanks to everyone for all of the support over the past two years!  We’re extremely thankful that we’ve been able to continue to move forward and it’s thanks to all of you!  Today is our way of saying thank you to everyone.

If you’re still in town this weekend, our 2nd anniversary party is TODAY from 2-6 PM!  Join us at Crafted for a tap takeover featuring Quest Brewing, who also happens to be gearing up for their first anniversary.  They’ve helped us come up with an amazing lineup that is sure to please everyone.  We’ve also enlisted the help of Simpsonville’s own Mad Cuban Cafe for a few tasty treats.  Make sure you grab a ticket when you get to the event because we’re going to be giving away door prizes every 15 minutes until the raffle drawing at 6 PM.  You have to be at the store to win the door prizes, but not to win the raffle.  We’ve also got free glassware with every purchase during the event while supplies last.  We hope you’re all as excited as we are – we can’t wait to see everyone this afternoon!

Our next tasting will be Thursday, July 17th, instead of the upcoming July 10th.  With everyone in 4th of July and anniversary party recovery mode, we want to give people a chance to get back in to the swing of things.

Thanks to everyone who came out for our World Cup tasting this past Thursday!  Results were fairly even, especially when it came to the Hefeweizens.  Lone Rider‘s Shotgun Betty put up great results when matched against Weihenstephaner‘s Hefeweizen.  One taster summed up the entire event perfectly when he said that we were the real winners for tasting such great beer.

We’ll be open normal hours on the 4th of July, so drop in any time from 11 AM through 9 PM for any last minute beer needs!

Join us this upcoming Saturday, July 5th, from 2-6 PM for our 2nd Anniversary Tap Takeover party featuring Quest Brewing!  We’ll have four kegs plus a cask fromQuest plus we’ll have food on hand from Mad Cuban and will be giving away door prizes all event long.  We’ll draw the winner of our charity basket at 6 PM and all entries need to be in by the 4th of July – no ticket sales on the day of the event!  We hope you’ll all join us and we can’t wait to start our third year off with a bang!

This week brought us tons of great new arrivals, including the brand new Oskar Blues Old Chub Nitro!  They’ve taken their classic Scotch Ale and added a nitrogen widget to the can in order to deliver a super creamy mouthfeel.  If you’ve never had a Scotch Ale before, pick up the classic and Nitro releases and compare them side by side – you won’t be disappointed!

Thanks to everyone who came out for our wheat beer tasting!  We thought they’d be a great fit for the summer, plus it was a good chance to show everyone just how versatile they can be.  Everyone was surprised that Lagunitas Lil Sumpin Sumpin is classified as a Pale Wheat Ale because of how hoppy it is.

Join us this upcoming Thursday, June 26th, from 5-7 PM for a World Cup / USA vs Germany tasting!  We’ll have an American Wheat and Pilsner up against a German Wheat and Pilsner.  Will the same country “win” both or will it come out as a draw?  Stop in any time during the 2 hour window and help us decide!

We get a lot of people that come in asking for different “spiced” or “peppered” brews and this week brought us one brewed with wasabi – Dogfish Head‘s Rosabi.  This Imperial Pale Ale uses wasabi for the herbal and bittering notes that are similar to hops, as well as a subtle heat.  If you’re looking for something different and willing to take the jump, pick up a bottle and let us know what you think!

We’re just over a month away from our anniversary and that means it’s time to get another charity raffle rolling!  Entries are $5, just like last year, and each entry gives you a chance to win a box of twelve limited releases from this past year.  We’ve included a list of local charities on each entry because we want you to decide where the donation should go each year.  There’s no limit on the number of entries per person and we have a full list of brews here at the store.

Thanks to everyone who came out for our summer beer tasting this past Thursday!  All of the great seasonals we tasted were a hit, but the classics still shined.  Anderson Valley‘s Summer Solstice continued to impress with its creamy mouth feel and balanced sweetness for the summer heat.

Join us this upcoming Thursday, June 19th, from 5-7 PM for a tasting featuring Wheat beer!  We’ll have a wide variety of different brews, each with their own unique twist or take on the style.  Wheat beer can be extremely diverse and we can’t wait to share them with everyone.

Palmetto Brewing Company has returned to Upstate South Carolina!  This Charleston brewery has been around since 1993 and brews a great line of sessionable craft offerings.  All of our current Palmetto labels are 6% ABV or under and make a great choice for any time of year.  Stop in and give this great South Carolina brewery a shot!
