Thanks to everyone who came out for our wheat tasting this past Thursday!  We hope everyone enjoyed just how varied wheat ales can really be.  Our first delivery ofBoulevard also managed to arrive in time for it to be a surprise for everyone.  Despite concern over the appearance of Schofferhofer Grapefruit-Weizen, it was hands down one of the hits of the evening.

Join us this upcoming Thursday, October 30th, for a free Halloween themed tasting from 5-7 PM!  We’ll have a variety of different labels from around the world that are the perfect fit for the season.

Mark your calendars for Friday, December 5th, so you can make early plans for ourRiver Rat tap takeover!  Ever since they opened shop last year, River Rat has been brewing up hit after hit.  We’re still working on the final details of what we’ll have to pour, but this is definitely one event you won’t want to miss.

This week marked the arrival of Kansas City, MO’s Boulevard Brewing Co!  So far, four of their main core line brews and three of their Smokestack labels have hit South Carolina with more to come in the future.  No matter what style of beer you enjoy,Boulevard is sure to have something that you’ll enjoy.

We’re excited to be able to help fill your beer needs now and in the future.  If you’ve got any beer suggestions or ideas, or any feedback, we would love to hear it!  Keep an eye out for more emails in the future with updates about events, new beers, new kegs, and more!  If you’d like daily updates and information about kegs as they’re tapped, make sure to like us on Facebook or follow us on Twitter.

Thanks to everyone who joined us for our Abbey Ale tasting this past Thursday!  We sampled a few favorite American offerings alongside the classic Rochefort 6 and were very surprised at the outcome.  River Rat Brewing out of Columbia, SC had one of the most popular of the evening thanks to its well balanced sweetness.

Join us this upcoming Thursday, October 23rd, from 5-7 PM for a tasting featuring Wheat ales / Hefeweizens.  We’ll have a selection of both American and German Wheats including Schofferhofer Grapefruit Weizen.  Drop in any time during the two hour window and get a taste of some great brews for any time of the year.

This week brought us the newest cans from Greenville’s own Quest Brewing Company!  To help celebrate the launch of Smoking Mirror in cans, we’re offering a freeQuest tulip with a purchase of a six pack or more.  You’ll want to get your hands on this delicious Smoked Porter soon because the cans and glasses won’t last long!

Thanks to everyone who came out for our Porter tasting this past Thursday!  We hope people had fun exploring some new options for the upcoming fall and winter weather.  Sierra Nevada‘s Porter tends to get overlooked compared to their other labels but gained quite a few new fans that evening.

Join us this upcoming Thursday, October 16th, from 5-7 PM for a Belgian-style Abbey Ale / Dubbel tasting!  Dubbels were originally called abbey ales since they were brewed at abbeys for consumption by the monks.  This rich malty style features a light sweetness from the Belgian candy sugar that is used in brewing.

This week brought us a very special fan favorite in a new larger bottle – Lagunitas Sucks!  If you’re a hop head and haven’t experienced Sucks then you’re missing out.  Lagunitas originally released it as a replacement for their Brown Shugga after running out of the capacity to brew it that year.  This “joyously dry-hopped” treat has the huge aroma and resinous hop finish to please any IPA fan.

Thanks to everyone who came out for our Pumpkin tasting!  We enjoyed exploring Pumpkin brews with everyone, especially the cider and barrel aged.  Warwick Valley‘s Doc’s Pumpkin Cider originally started as our first taste but quickly moved to last as we discovered just how much the flavors really popped.

Join us this upcoming Thursday, October 9th, from 5-7 PM for a tasting featuring Porters!  With temperatures continuing to trend downward, we wanted to continue on towards darker beer.  Stop in any time during the two hour tasting window and enjoy some of our favorites, including Terrapin‘s Chocolate Peanut Butter Porter.

This week brought us several new arrivals from a great brewery in Denver called Crooked Stave.  They specialize in barrel-aged sours and wild ales that use 100% Brettanomyces fermentation.  If you’re a fan of the funk then Crooked Stave should be just what you’re looking for.

Thanks to everyone who joined us for our Victory tap takeover on Friday!  Their Prima Pils is one of the trailblazers of the hoppy American craft pilsner.  Festbier, one of Victory‘s original brews, was the most popular of the evening thanks to the wonderful balance of German malts and whole flower hops.  We had a great time hosting Andy and further introducing everyone to another great brewery.

Join us this upcoming Thursday, October 2nd, from 5-7 PM for a pumpkin beer tasting!  With the weather finally starting to cool down, we thought it would be the perfect time to bring out this seasonal favorite.  Despite their name, pumpkin beers actually get their body from the pumpkin while the flavors come from the fall spices.  Drop in any time during the two hour window to see just how different they can be!

This week brought us Stone‘s Xocoveza, a homebrew turned collaboration that was inspired by Mexican hot chocolate.  Xocoveza is a coffee-infused milk stout that features chocolate, cinnamon, nutmeg, and chile peppers.  This unique twist on the spiced stout style makes the perfect companion for the looming fall and winter weather.

Thanks to everyone who came out for our Dogfish Head bomber tasting!  We shared several of their off-the-beaten-path selections and were surprised with the results.  Rosabi, with hints of wasabi flavor and heat, was one of the bigger hits due to its unexpected drinkability.  Noble Rot’s dry wine-like body also created several new fans.

Join us this upcoming Friday, September 26th, from 5-7 PM for a Victory Brewing tap takeover! We’ll have a representative from the brewery here to help educate everyone about some of their great brews! We’ll have a selection of side projects, seasonals, and year round brews for everyone to enjoy. Stop in and see what they’re all about!

This week brought us several bombers from one of the recently opened breweries in Columbia, SC – Conquest Brewing Co!  Artemis Blonde, Medusa Stout, and Sacred Heart IPA are all sure to please due to being approachable enough for the craft novice while still featuring all of the flavor and depth for the pickiest drinker.  Drop in, grab a few bombers to share, and let us know what you think!

Thanks to everyone who joined us for our fall seasonal tasting! Even though this season is dominated by Oktoberfest and Pumpkin, we wanted to highlight some of the other great brews that are released this time of year.

Join us this upcoming Thursday, September 18th, from 5-7 PM for a free tasting featuring Dogfish Head! We’ve got a large selection of their bombers, ranging from IPAs to Ancient Ales, and thought it would be fun to share their creativity with everyone. Join us any time during the two hour tasting window and learn what makes Dogfish so special!

This week brought us the newest release in Allagash’s Tribute Series with their 2014 Fluxus. $1 of every Fluxus sold goes to a scholarship for pediatric nurses. This year, Fluxus features spruce tips and honey notes. This medium bodied ale is further balanced by a pleasant malt character. Fluxus makes a great treat to warm up with during the fall and winter months.
