Thanks to everyone who joined us for our brown ale tasting this past Thursday!  We enjoyed getting to share some great malty favorites of ours, especially with football season starting again.  Dogfish Head‘s Indian Brown Ale turned the most heads thanks to how well it “blends” several different styles together.

Join us this upcoming Thursday, September 4th, from 5-7 PM for a tasting featuring Oktoberfest beers!  September is the perfect time to start digging into this seasonal style, especially with the temperature still being as high as it is.  These highly drinkable lagers make for the perfect option while the seasons are changing.  Join us as we get into the mood for the season while tasting a selection of some of our favorites.

This week marked the return of the fan favorite Weyerbacher Imperial Pumpkin Ale.  Pumpkin fans won’t want to pass up this delicious 8% ABV monster.  Weyerbacheradds a large amount of pumpkin as well as hints of nutmeg, cinnamon, and cardamom.  If you’re looking for the perfect partner for your pumpkin pie or for a night by the campfire then look no further.

We’re open normal hours on Labor Day for your convenience, so drop in for your last minute beer needs.  With tailgating season arriving, we wanted to give everyone a quick reminder that we can order kegs for you!  If you let us know the week before or early on a Monday, we can have kegs on hand for you for the weekend.

We’re excited to be able to help fill your beer needs now and in the future.  If you’ve got any beer suggestions or ideas, or any feedback, we would love to hear it!  Keep an eye out for more emails in the future with updates about events, new beers, new kegs, and more!  If you’d like daily updates and information about kegs as they’re tapped, make sure to like us on Facebook or follow us on Twitter.

Thanks to everyone who joined us for our Sierra Nevada Beer Camp / Mills River tasting!  Their Beer Camp collaborations have been a huge hit and we were happy to have the opportunity to share Tater Ridge and Yonder Bock with everyone.  Chances are high that you won’t see these kegs again, so you’ll want to come fill your growler while you can!

Join us this upcoming Thursday, August 28th, from 5-7 PM for a free Brown Ale tasting!  We’re continuing our “back-to-basics” events with this versatile style.  Brown Ales have varying bitterness and hop profiles, as well as a large variety of coffee, chocolate, or nutty undertones.  Join us as we explore some of the various options that’re available.

This week brought us the return of Thomas Creek‘s fall seasonals!  These local favorites were such a huge hit last year that they ran out long before the season was over.  Thomas Creek was prepared for this year and brewed twice as much, but that doesn’t mean you should wait to give them a taste!  Their Pumpkin ale features natural spices and is reminiscent of an oven-baked pumpkin pie.

Thanks to everyone who came out for our Amber tasting this past Thursday!  We wanted to continue returning to our craft roots with simpler styles.  These classics are still big fan favorites today and what many of us started off drinking.

Join us this upcoming Friday, August 22nd, from 5-7 PM for an event featuring Sierra Nevada!  We’ve managed to get our hands on kegs of two Beer Camp releases – Yonder Bock and Tater Ridge.  Drop in any time from 5-7 PM to get a taste of these two great collaborations along with two Sierra Nevada classics.  We’ll have glassware and other swag on hand to give out with growler fills or 6-pack purchases while supplies last.

If you’re looking for something different for your growler for the weekend, we’ve tapped another keg of Warwick Valley‘s delicious Doc’s Draft Framboise Cider.  This light and refreshing raspberry apple cider is the perfect choice for a weekend companion and is sure to please.

Thanks to everyone who joined us for our IPA day tasting this past Thursday!  We had fun celebrating the IPA while introducing people to a few IPAs they might not have tried before.  Natty Greene’s and Anchor were surprises for many people.

Join us this upcoming Thursday, August 14th, from 5-7 PM for a tasting featuring Reds and Ambers.  This was originally planned for last week, but IPA day caused us to shift our focus at the last minute.  Reds and Ambers make the perfect transition beer for the end of summer and beginning of fall.  We’ll have a selection of regional fan favorites for your tasting pleasure, so be sure to stop by.

This week brought us the very first bottle from Charleston newcomers Freehouse Brewery.  They’ve been brewing delicious all organic beer for a few months including the now bottled Ashley Farmhouse.  This bottle conditioned Farmhouse ale features a yeast-driven tartness with hints of rye spiciness and hops.  Ashley Farmhouse was certified organic by Clemson University.

Thanks to everyone who joined us for our Pale Ale tasting this past Thursday!  We thought it would be a fun chance to get back to our roots.  Several people enjoyed revisiting several brews they hadn’t had in years.

Join us this upcoming Thursday, August 7th, from 5:30-7:30 PM for a tasting featuring Reds and Ambers.  After our Pale Ale tasting, we wanted to continue to revisit old classics.  Reds and Ambers make the perfect transition beer for the end of summer and beginning of fall.  We’ll have a selection of regional fan favorites for your tasting pleasure, so be sure to stop by.

This week marked the return of several popular fall releases, including Sierra Nevada‘s Flipside Red IPA.  It was originally released last year as a seasonal alongside their Tumbler but was so incredibly popular that they’re no longer brewing Tumbler.  Flipside features a solid malt backbone alongside Citra, Simcoe, and Centennial hops.  If you’re looking for a perfect between seasons IPA that will carry you through fall, look no further than Flipside.

Thanks to everyone who joined us for our Belgian-style Tripel tasting this past Thursday!  Fan favorite Victory Golden Monkey had some stiff competition, especially by Thirsty Dog Cerberus.  All four selections showed just how different Tripels can be.

Join us this upcoming Thursday, July 31st, from 5-7 PM for a Pale Ale tasting!  Pale Ales are a classic style that can have a lot of variance in terms of hoppiness.  If you’re looking for something that can satisfy a newcomer and a hophead, Pale Ales are a great middle ground.  We’ll have both new and old school Pale Ales that feature different hop profiles and methods of hopping.

This week brought us some of the first bottles from River Rat Brewing in Columbia, SC!  This great new South Carolina brewery was founded last year and has been brewing delicious beer ever since.  We have two of their five year-round brews, Moncks Corner Abbey Ale and their Double IPA.  Be on the lookout for the rest of their great labels!

Thanks to everyone who came out for our Pilsner tasting this past Thursday!  We tasted two Czech style and two German style Pilsners for the end of the summer.  Mama’s Little Yella Pils by Oskar Blues was hands down the fan favorite.

Join us this upcoming Thursday, July 24th, from 5-7 PM for a tasting featuring Belgian style Tripels.  Tripels have been a very popular style since our opening and have some amazing flavors.  We thought now would be a great time to introduce more people to the style.  We’ll have a mixture of both new arrivals and fan favorites for everyone to try.

This week brought us the “full house” from Big Boss Brewing out of Raleigh, North Carolina!  Three of their labels are now available on our shelves and we don’t think you’ll be disappointed.  If you’re a hop head, be on the lookout for their High Roller IPA and Hell’s Belle Belgian Pale Ale.  We’re excited for the arrival of the rest of their labels and hope you’ll help us give them a warm welcome!
